The exchange rate of the Korean won against the US dollar has continued to decline recently, falling below the mark of 1,316 won to 1 US dollar in intraday trading on the 12th. 

 

The Bank of Korea, the central bank of South Korea, announced on the 13th that it will raise the benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points to 2.25% from 1.75%.
